Plugin District: New Dark Theme, Faster Pages, and What’s Coming Next

Plugin District just got a major refresh — new look, faster pages, and a better experience for every store owner who relies on our WooCommerce plugins.

This isn’t a cosmetic update. It’s a ground-up rebuild of how the site works, what it looks like, and how it performs. Here’s what changed and what’s coming next.

What Changed

Dark Theme, Clean Design

The entire site now runs on a dark, premium color scheme. Dark navy background, bright blue accents, and high-contrast typography that’s easier on the eyes — especially during late-night debugging sessions.

Every page — the shop, product pages, blog, checkout, and account area — uses the same consistent design system. No more visual inconsistencies between sections.

Faster Page Loads

We removed significant frontend bloat:

  • Zero Google Fonts — the site now uses system fonts exclusively. No external font requests, no render-blocking stylesheets.
  • No legacy page builder — Cornerstone and the X Theme have been fully removed. Every template is hand-built, standalone PHP with a single CSS file.
  • Consolidated CSS — hundreds of lines of inline styles were moved to a single external stylesheet that the browser can cache.
  • Optimized image loading — hero images load eagerly with priority hints, everything else lazy-loads.

The result: fewer HTTP requests, smaller payloads, and noticeably faster first-paint times.

Redesigned Product Pages

Each plugin page is now a proper sales page, not just a WooCommerce product listing:

  • Clean buy box — the add-to-cart area is now a contained card with a full-width CTA button and styled license tier selects.
  • Tabbed content — product descriptions and documentation now live in clean Overview and Documentation tabs, both fully indexable by search engines.
  • “What’s included” section — every product page clearly shows that you get the plugin, 1 year of updates, priority support, and full documentation.
  • JSON-LD Product schema — structured data for Google rich results, including pricing, availability, and aggregate ratings.

Per-Product Documentation

We added the ability to embed full HTML documentation directly on each product page. Instead of sending customers to a separate docs site, the setup guides, configuration notes, and troubleshooting steps now live right alongside the product — in a dedicated Documentation tab.

This is better for customers (everything in one place) and better for SEO (more relevant content on each product URL).

What’s Coming Next

The site refresh is the foundation. Here’s what we’re building on top of it.

New Plugins

We have two new WooCommerce plugins in active development. Both solve real operational problems we’ve seen store owners struggle with — not hypothetical ones. More details soon, but expect the same approach: focused functionality, clear documentation, and direct support from the developer who built it.

Expanded Documentation

Every plugin will get comprehensive, embedded documentation on its product page. We’re also expanding the central docs hub with more troubleshooting guides and integration examples.

More Practical Content

The blog will continue publishing WooCommerce-focused content — practical guides, real automation strategies, and honest reviews of tools that actually help store owners. No filler, no SEO-bait listicles.

Affiliate Program Growth

Our affiliate program is live with 25% commissions. If you’ve used our plugins and want to recommend them, this is the easiest way to earn while helping other store owners find tools that work.

The Philosophy Hasn’t Changed

Plugin District exists because too many WordPress plugins are bloated, poorly supported, or built by teams that don’t use their own products.

Every plugin here is built by one developer who also handles support. That means:

  • When you report a bug, the person who reads it is the person who can fix it.
  • When you request a feature, it gets evaluated by someone who understands the codebase, not forwarded to a backlog.
  • When you need help, you get a real answer — usually within one business day.

That model doesn’t scale infinitely. But for the store owners who use these plugins, it means a level of support and attention that larger companies can’t match.

If you have questions, feedback on the new design, or ideas for what you’d like to see next — get in touch. Every message goes directly to me.

Thanks for being here.
